This parish was like a ray of sunshine among all the other parishes we approached. This is because the location of the church by the water was very strongly reminiscent of Thessaloniki and Greece in general.
This neighborhood strengthens the Greek element, the Greek identity, but at the same time generates a positive mood to anyone who visits the place.
The parish initially invited us to make small additions and corrections, but we eventually came to an agreement on a comprehensive renovation program of the church, giving the opportunity to the president and now dear friend, Marina Corodimos, to renew the aesthetics of the church and at the same time willingness of the parish to continue its course in the future.
The space includes an excellent choir of Byzantine music, whose conductor is a high level musician and has made excellent efforts on the combination of classical and Byzantine music, giving a wonderful example of a symphony during the second opening of the church, after the completion of the hagiography by us.
We tried to unify the space with a relative degree of overall decorative mood, but at the same time to give a note of traditional sanctification working in the space both with the traditional overlapping belts and busts of Saints, and with the effort to come up with some compositions that will complete a typical program of an orthodox temple.
We tried to make the colors bright, as is the whole church, as well as to match our sanctuary and overall aesthetics with that of the stained glass windows that adorn the church and which are special and remarkable.
There was already Platytera, which we decided to keep together, but we dismantled the old Pantocrator and made a new one, which we believe corresponds much better to the proportions of the temple and the quality of its hagiography.
We think that this effort is a very economical, effective and practical renewal in matters of hagiography of parishes and we consider that it is an exemplary cooperation on all levels.
"The result of the iconographic work of the Christodoulou brothers, is really impressive and we invite the whole Greek community to visit our church to admire the icons"
“We’re not doing this just because we want the church to look nice or colorful, ιt’s about what we believe. Iconography is so crucial to the daily life of the Orthodox Christian.”
The working steps
We follow specific steps for the design, creation, construction and placement of the project
BeforeWe accurately identify the needs of the interested party.
Precision planDraft proposals accompanied by a complete feasibility study, time study and costing of the project.
PaintingWe start the painting and during it we communicate with the client, informing and referring to the course of the work.
PlacementUsing seasonal and construction methods (acrylic media and rock and metal powders) we paint directly on properly prepared walls, either directly or indirectly by placing canvases already painted in our workshop.
In this way we ensure longevity and safety from future technical repair problems.
